The Stowe Mountain Bike Club (SMBC) is an organized chapter of Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA), a non-profit organization formed in 1997 to promote responsible mountain biking in Vermont.

The primary purpose of SMBC is to ensure the continued accessibility of our local mountain bike trails in Waterbury, Stowe and Morrisville. We will accomplish this by working with state and town officials, conservation groups, and other local organizations and individuals. As a club, we seek permission from public and private landowners to create and maintain mountain bike trails, and promote responsible riding.

Your membership supports these efforts. Membership fees are used for the costs associated with trail maintenance, club administration, insurance, landowners appreciation and the landowner support fund. In addition SMBC supports state wide mountain biking efforts through our affiliation with VMBA, nationally through our membership with IMBA, as well as donating to local rescue squads. 4 hours of trail maintenance and/or volunteer time is also suggested.

SMBC is a proud member of the following organizations: Stowe Conservation Commission, Stowe Land Trust, Vermont Mountain Bike Associaton, International Mountain Bike Association, Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition, and the Stowe Area Association.
