So a few months back a couple of young go-getters from the Stowe High School Investment Club approached SMBC and said they’d like to organize a golf tournament as a charity fund raiser for the Club. My first reaction was that when I was that age I couldn’t think much beyond what was for lunch, let alone plan and organize a golf tournament to raise money for a local non-profit. The motivation and maturity these young men have shown in organizing this tournament is nothing short of phenomenal. But I digress.
So without further ado, we present the First Annual Stowe Trails Charity Golf Tourney. It’s going down on Sunday May 22 at the Stowe Country Club–scramble format, 9 a.m. shotgun start. There will be an after party with awards and prizes at Charlie B’s (at the Stoweflake) immediately following. Entry is $100 per person, field is capped at 100 people. Register individually or as a team right here.
This is a chance to not only play one of New England’s most scenic courses, but to also raise money for a great cause. 100% of the money raised will go right back to preserving, maintaining and expanding Stowe’s trail network.
